A powered unit with a matrix of drills for aeration and decompaction, which can penetrate to a depth of 450mm; the drill pieces have a diameter of 10mm to 32mm. The drills remove the soil rootzone which can either be removed from site or reworked back into the soil. It is imported into the UK and operated by Ecosolve Ltd.

A pedestrian operated aerator with 8 drills penetrating up to 290mm for decompaction work, and with 150mm deep drills potentially being used for more routine aeration work. This was manufactured by Pattisson & Co. in the early 1970s.

The penetration of a sward to a deeper depth than for routine aeration. Deep spiking will typically be carried out to a depth of 200mm-250mm and greater. Heavy duty solid tines as well as heavy duty slitting type tines are typically used, with a combined action of decompaction through some form of soil shattering/fissuring also being frequently carried out. A deep mounted sorrel roller attachment for the D System Mounted Carrying Frame, which is manufactured by SCH Supplies. It has a working width of 1.5m, a roller diameter of 200mm and weight of 35kg, with 280 tines on the roller, which can penetrate to a maximum depth of 63mm.

A micro-coring aeration unit which replaces the cylinder mower units on a triple mower. The unit has hollow tines (11mm diameter producing an 8mm core; and 9.5mm diameter producing a 6mm core), solid tines (5mm and 9.5mm diameter) and a 0.8mm thickness slicing blade. Coring depth is to a maximum of 25mm. It is manufactured by GreenTek.
