Dew Clear
A polymer surfactant which reduces the surface tension of water and provide longevity in preventing subsequent dew formation for between 7 and 21 days. It is supplied by Agronomic Services.
Dew Dispersant
A surfactant that is applied to a grass sward and which typically coats the grass leaves with a water repellent layer. Dew is unable to form on a sward whilst the layer is viable, which might typically be 1-2 weeks, although heavy rainfall or regular mowing can reduce this period, whilst less frequent mowing and prolonged dry conditions might extend the period of effectiveness. The use of dew dispersants, especially at times of the year when fungal disease pressures are high, might be considered as part of an integrated turf management plan, helping to reduce the need for fungicide applications.
DewCure
The product name for a liquid material applied to a turfgrass surface to reduce the formation of dew, guttation on a leaf and increases the drying of a leaf following a light frost, rainfall or watering. The material can be applied at fortnightly intervals onto a dry surface where it binds to the leaf, effectively creating a protective moisture repellent layer. An increase in leaf dryness can help contribute to reducing the likelihood of turfgrass disease. It is supplied by Headland Amenity.
Dewel
A product name for a liquid dew dispersant, which also acts as a winter wetting agent, with a typical application rate of 6 litres of concentrate diluted in 300-400 litres of water per hectare. A typical application frequency might be no greater than weekly up to fortnightly, as the product effectiveness lasts up to 2 weeks. It is produced by GBR Technology.
DewSmart
A product name for a dispersant material, which is part of the H2Pro Range, for use as a dew dispersant, especially on golf greens and applied onto a dry surface to ensure adequate leaf adhesion. It is supplied by ICL.
Early Start
A product name for a wetting agent which can be used for dew control on fine turf surfaces and which can provide from 1 ¯ 3 weeks control. The application rate is 1.2-2 litres of concentrate in 400-600 litres of water per hectare. It is supplied by Vitax Amenity.
Eco-Wet
A product name for a liquid penetrant wetting agent, derived from palm oil, with a typical application rate of 5 litres of concentrate diluted in 300-900 litres of water per hectare, being applied at any time during the year. It is produced by GBR Technology.
Endew Plus
A product name for a liquid dew dispersant, with a typical application rate of 5 litres of concentrate diluted in 300-450 litres of water per hectare, being applied every 10 to 21 days, as this is the extent of its longevity of effectiveness. It is produced by GBR Technology.
Excel Liquid
A product name for a wetting agent with an application rate of 1 litre of concentrate mixed with 300 litres of water per hectare. It is supplied by Agrovista Amenity.
Fifty 90
A long-lasting wetting agent concentrate, giving up to 90-days of control. Chemical component is 99.5% of Propoxylated Polyethylene Glycols, with 0.5% water. A full rate of application is 480 ml per 100 m2 in 20 L of water. Produced by Aquatrols (Europe Ltd).
