Dimple Seeder

A shallow studded roller with many dimples which produce a surface with shallow holes ready to receive grass seed. They might be pedestrian, or tractor operated, typically including a seed hopper to apply seed at the same time, for example SISIS Variseeder.

  Drainmaster

A tractor operated sand-slit drainage trencher and filler, creating 2 or 3 trenches at 4cm width per run. It weighs 3,300 kg (unloaded) and requires a tractor with a minimum of 120hp and a creeper gear. It has a working width of 1.5m, a working depth of up to 23cm, a hopper capacity for sand of 4m³. The wheels of the Drainmaster follow the excavated and filled trenches helping to produce a firm surface to the trench infill. It is manufactured by GKB Machines.

  Ecodresser

A tractor operated combination unit of aerator / cultivator, with top-dressing of recycled soil from the aeration/cultivation process. There are 4 models, each having a working depth of up to 200mm, with an optional stone screener for the larger 3 models to help screen out stones within the recycled topsoil;

  Hydraway Sportsdrain

A rectangular shaped drainage pipe, 150mm x 25mm, which has a geotextile outer membrane and an inner open matrix to allow water to be channelled away to an outfall. It is a system installed by Turfdry.

  Koro Field Top Maker (FTM)

A make of tractor mounted fraise mower, with 4 models having working widths of 1.2m, 1.6m, 2.0m and 2.5m. The working depth of each model is from 0-50mm depending upon the blades used. These machines can be used for activities from scarification (using the Scarifying rotor with 2mm or 3mm tungsten tipped blades) and the removal of organic material on reinforced-synthetic bladed hybrid surfaces (using Universe rotor blades, to the complete removal of a surface layer (using either Terraplane rotor or Digging rotor). The FTM is manufactured by Imants.

  Landscaper

A soil preparation unit to which can be attached different fittings, including a ripper bar (for decompacting soil), levelling harrow, or a soil pulverising roller.

  Overseeder

A make of tractor mounted disc seeder. There are 7 models: 4 with single discs, with a disc spacing of 75mm; and 3 with double discs, with a disc spacing of 30mm. Working widths are 1.2m, 1.58m and 2.08m for the single disc models, and 1.1m, 1.8m, and 2.2m for the double disc models; it is manufactured by Redexim-Charterhouse.

  Rake O Rotor

A tractor operated spiked rotating roller which is used for surface cultivation of a soil-bed to create a fine tilth ready for seeding, or turfing. It has a working width of 1.8m, weighs 500kg and a variable drum speed of up to 600rpm. It is supplied by Campey.

  RD Range

A range of tractor mounted PTO driven stone buriers, with seven models, RD100, RD130, RD145, having a working depth of 140mm, and the larger RD150, RD180, RD200 and RD250, having a working depth of 160mm. This is the Rotadairon brand being manufactured by Dairon.

  Renovator

Tractor operated deep compaction unit for synthetic surfaces, which consists of 5 rotary brushes to displace the infill material to the surface ready for removing or redistribution. There are 2 models, each with a brush operating depth of up to 50mm: • RV160: operating width of 1.6m; weight of 240kg; with a power need of >30hp. • RV200: operating width of 2m; weight of 300kg; with a power need of >40hp. They are manufactured by GKB Machines.
