A gravel surface layer is an example of a permeable surface overlying a soil base. It is supplied by ProKlass Products Ltd.

Other weeds in non-crop areas could also be controlled, although care had to be taken to avoid applying this too close to ornamental or desirable shrubs or trees as this could kill them. It is no longer approved for such use.
