A pedestrian operated machine with interchangeable scarifying reel, which contra-rotated for thatch removal, or rotated in a forward direction for lighter surface verticutting type action, or a spring tine reel for the raising up of lateral growth prior to being mown. It was manufactured by SISIS in the late 1960s and 1970s.

An item of equipment which is used to lightly raise up grass leaves; In effect it is carrying out a mechanical combing of the grass surface. The equipment might be a powered rotating disc with fine tines, or a nylon brush, fitted behind the front roller, which might be grooved, of a cylinder mower. A similar type of activity is combing. A make of pedestrian operated verticutter and scarifier. It has a 400mm cutting width, weighs 165kg, and has a 13 h.p. petrol engine. There are 8 tungsten tips to each disc blade, being a standard 2mm in thickness at 25mm spacings. Optional blade thicknesses of 1mm and 3mm are also available. The machine has forward and reverse operation. It is manufactured by Graden.

A make of pedestrian operated scarifier. There are three models with a working width of either 0.46m or 0.5m, and with a maximum working depth of 15mm or 30mmm, depending upon the model. Blade spacing varies from 15mm, 20mm or 30mm; it is manufactured by Redexim-Charterhouse.
