This organisation was formed in 1934 as the National Association of Groundsmen, changing its name to the IOG in 1969 (5th March). It was incorporated (as a company) in 1955 (6th August) but without the initials Ltd which was omitted by licence by the Board of Trade. It changed its name again in 2020 to the Grounds Management Association (GMA).
