Ammonium Sulphate advert image shown if present

An inorganic fertiliser supplying 20.6% of nitrogen, with a chemical formula of (NH4)2SO4. It also supplies 24% of sulphur. Some of the nitrogen is immediately available to the grass plant as ammonium, whilst the majority of it is gradually converted, over a period of 10 to 14 days, to the more available nitrates. It produces an acidic reaction on a turf surface, with approximately 1 unit of calcium carbonate being removed from the soil with each 1 unit of ammonium sulphate applied. It must be watered in straight after being applied, unless it is used as a lawn sand for moss control when limited, but not excessive, scorching will expected.
