Resilience [2]

Where the term resilience relates to an employability skill, then this means the ability of an individual to take criticism, setbacks on work activities, or changing situations, and adapt their behaviour to move forward and recover in a positive way. Resilience is about the emotional and physical conditions needed to overcome setbacks. This is related to perseverance, in which it basically works in parallel with, in that the latter term emphasises the ability to not give up and continue trying. An individual with a high level of perseverance but with low resilience is unable to adequately adapt to changing circumstances and might be thought of as someone who continues to dig themselves deeper into trouble, and can ultimately exhaust themselves, because they cannot change their way of thinking or doing things.
