A table, bar chart, or similar, which identifies the maintenance activities which are typically carried out during a 12-month year.

The period covered might be a traditional schedule year of January – December; a financial year of April – March, or an academic year of September – August; or 12-months from the start of a playing season for a particular sport. This might also be called a Calendar of Works.

The schedule might be divided into 12 single months, or a more detailed 52 weekly period, however, the latter might provide spurious accuracy and may not be as practical as a monthly schedule. With there being 13-weeks in each quarter, a monthly maintenance schedule might have each quarter have a sequence of months having the following number of weeks 4:4:5, rather than the exact number of days per month.

In addition to the activities that are typically carried out, a schedule will also include an estimate of the frequencies for each activity per month, with an example of a small part of a maintenance schedule for a domestic lawn shown below.
