Thigmotropism

The response of a plant due to being touched or coming into contact with an object. This can typically result in roots bending around an object (being negatively thigmotropic, i.e. moving away from the object), or growth tendrils coiling around an object (being positively thigmotropic), which aid stability and growth of stems.
