This was valid between 2008 and 2015, and applied to England, Northern Ireland and Wales.

It was based on credits for different units and qualifications.

Awards were from 1 to 12 credits; Certificates from 13 to 26 credits, and Diplomas would be 37 credits or higher.

Each credit would equate to 10 hours of learning. It was superseded by the RQF.
