This is a number which is applied to a pesticide product (which may contain more than one active ingredient) once it has been approved for commercial use in Ireland with the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine.

Any pesticide product sold within Ireland will have this number on the product label. Pesticide products sold within the UK may have both the MAPP and PCS number, which helps suppliers in distributing a common product between Ireland and the UK, otherwise separate labels would be needed.
