The poor communication and receipt of a message.

The sender of a message may think that they have passed on their message, however, if the receiver of it does not understand it then it has been ineffectively communicated.

To communicate effectively the person sending the message needs to understand the audience to whom they are sending it and package it appropriately so that it is clearly understood. See ‘Communication, Barriers to Effective’.
