Laurillard's Conversational Framework

A theory of learning, particularly suited to online learning, which consists of 4 elements:
• Teacher's (1) concepts and (2) constructed environment.
• Student's (1) concepts and (2) specific actions.
There are 4 types of communication activity which take place between teacher and student:
• Discussion;
• Adaptation;
• Interaction; and
• Reflection.
These activities form the conversation between student and teacher, with the student exploring for, discovering, and constructing knowledge, especially via online content, with the support of the teacher.
