The communication of a message to others will involve speaking to others, whether in person, webinar, video link, as part of a digital (such as online) guide, or similar.

A presentation will often involve the use of some supporting visuals, so make the most of they can be used. There are many aspects to good presentations skills, including:


• Identify the purpose of the presentation.
• Create the message to achieve the purpose.
• Clarity of message.
• Confidence in delivery.
• Knowing your subject matter.
• Show interest in your subject matter.
• Being positive in delivery.
• Acknowledging all of your audience with appropriate eye contact.
• Varying the tone and pitch of your delivery.
• Speaking at an appropriate speed, neither too fast nor too slow.
• Using relevant and interesting visuals.
• Limit the number words on each visual: keep to key words or themes.
• Being open and engaging, welcoming questions.
• Careful use of language, especially technical language.
• Practicing your presentation many times beforehand.
• 15 minutes before your presentation, prepare your lungs and vocals, take deep breathes and practice a few lines.
• Stay calm and deliver your presentation.
