Work Productivity Hours Per Year
How many hours of productive work can an employee carry out per year? This might seem straightforward to answer in the first instance, just multiple the hours the employee works per week with the number of weeks in a year, simple. The answer is 40 hours x 52 weeks, which equals 2,080 productive hours.
Much comes down to how productivity is defined in the context of grounds maintenance. For our purpose we will define it as ‘the direct, efficient, use of resources in producing a desirable end product'. We have included direct to enable a contrast with indirect, so we are also able to make a distinction between these two terms.
