Yarn

A roll of synthetic material which is used to create a synthetic carpet. A yarn has various characteristics, including, for example:
• The type of material, which is typically polyethylene, polyamide, or polypropylene.
• The structure of the individual fibre, for example, monofilament or fibrillated.
• The shape of the fibre blade, which might be flat, or shaped in certain ways, e.g. C, V, W.
• The thickness of the material which forms the blade.
• The weight of the material. This is called Decitex (Dtex) which is the weight in decigrams per 10,000 linear metres of fibre strand.
It is also referred to as Fibre Yarn.
