Kolb's Learning Style
Experiential learning is a constructivist learning theory and is a model popularised by David A. Kolb.
It follows a process whereby the learner reflects upon their experience, this produces new insights or learning from the experience, and then this is actively experimented with to produce a new experience: the sequence would continue as a process of continual improvement of learning.
The emphasis of this learning style is on an individual's learning process and is especially useful at encouraging the development of critical thinking skills.
The reflective learning skills can assist a learner in comparing and contrasting different opinions and values so that a better informed and considered judgement is achieved.
Within the workplace there is a strong need for teamwork and compromise; experiential learning can be beneficial in this situation.
