Discrimination

It is unlawful to unfairly treat someone differently from others. The Equality Act 2010, Section 4, identifies ‘protected characteristics', which legally protects individuals against discrimination, and are given as:
• age.
• disability.
• gender reassignment.
• marriage and civil partnership.
• pregnancy and maternity.
• race.
• religion or belief.
• sex.
• sexual orientation.
