The observation of a defined task, or tasks, by an assessor.

A candidate would typically be expected to demonstrate the correct and safe procedures needed to complete the set task/s.

Oral questions may also be used during the assessment, for example, to confirm understanding of why an activity was carried out, the safety requirements needed before undertaking a task, or the consequences of not carrying out a task correctly.
