Reinforcement Material
Artificial material which is used to reinforce a natural turfgrass pitch. It is especially used to aid surface stability on high sand root zone constructions and to maintain surface evenness. There are three main types, or categories, of reinforced material:
1. Synthetic grass blades which are stitched into a surface. Examples being SIS grass; Grassmaster / Desso; Sporthybrid R.
2. Artificial inclusion, such as synthetic fibres mixed into a root zone material. Examples, being Fibresand; Fibrelastic; Loksand; Sporthybrid Turf.
3. An Artificial light-weight grass carpet (or material layer/s), a textile-based system with a biodegradable or synthetic backing, with a low density of synthetic grass blades, which is infilled with a top-dressing material and oversown with grass seed. Examples being Fusion; Hero; Playmaster; Mixto; Palau Turf.
