A presentational quality performance standard which states the maximum amount, as a percentage, of debris which can be present on a surface. This would include examples such as tree leaves, sweet wrappers, paper and the like. It could also quality this performance standard by stating that it is soft litter which is not also classed as a hazard, so as to differentiate it from other forms of surface debris, which might include stones (over greater than a stated diameter), glass, bottle, cans, dog excrement etc. which if present will be a hazard and should be identified as such when carrying out a risk assessment of the surface prior to any play taking place. All hazards must be removed form a playing surface prior to any games taking place.
