Wild Mammals (Protection) Act 1996
An Act which aims to protect wild mammals from acts of cruelty. A wild mammal is defined in this Act as “any mammal which is not a “protected animal†within the meaning of the Animal Welfare Act 2006.â€
Section 1 makes it an offence and guilty to prosecution if “any person mutilates, kicks, beats, nails or otherwise impales, stabs, burns, stones, crushes, drowns, drags or asphyxiates any wild mammal with intent to inflict unnecessary suffering …â€.
