A common Perennial grass, with the scientific name of Deschampsia cespitosa. The leaf is Flat or rolled, having a typical width of 2-5mm. The Ligule is Membranous, being 15mm in length; Auricle?: No. Growth type is Tufted. It is a broader flat leaved grass, which is sometimes used within a mixture with perennial ryegrass. It is tolerant of damp and poorly drained soils, as well as shaded situations, so is a useful complement to winter games pitches, or general lawns.
