Traction [2]

The interaction between a turf surface and footwear. It is used to measure the grip of a surface to help determine if a surface is too slippery, or alternatively if not enough give is provided. If a surface has too high a traction then a player's ligament or tissue might sustain physical damage, or tearing, before the turf surface itself fails.
