Sports Turf Operative

An individual who is responsible for the maintenance, renovation and overall appearance of one or more sports turf surfaces.

The purpose of the job role is to maintain an appropriate quality playing surface that can sustain the desired level of quality for the entire playing season.

This termm is also sometimes referred to as a Groundsman, Groundsperson, Grounds Maintenance Operative, or Groundskeeper.

There is a Level 2 apprenticeship standard for this role, which was originally available from September 2016.
