Resilience

This can have several interpretations and can also be termed Resiliency.
• An expression of how elastic a material is. A resilient sports turf surface is one that returns to its original state following an impact from a player or ball.
• The proportion of energy returned, in relation to that expended, to an individual following contact with a surface.
• The ability of an individual to address and recover from setbacks.
• The ability of an environment to withstand and recover from negative impacts such as degradation, vandalism, weather events, as well as disease and pest attack.
• The ability of an organisation to maintain a successful operating status despite the effects of disruptions on its functioning. A business continuity plan will often be in place to strengthen organisational resilience.
