A common Perennial grass, with the scientific name of Puccinellia distans. It is sometimes split into two sub-species: The commonest being Puccinellia distans sub-species distans, with the leaf being Flat or rolled, having a typical width of 1.5-4mm. The Ligule is Membranous, being 1-3mm in length; Auricle?: No. Growth type is Tufted. The second sub-species is Puccinellia distans sub-species borealis and which is also known as Northern Reflexed Salt Marsh Grass and may be a species in its own right.
