The connecting PTO drive shaft must be protected by fully enclosing the shaft with a guard. Restraining devices, such as chains, must be attached at suitable points to the equipment end and to the designed hole on the PTO shield. Correct fitting will ensure the shaft guard does not move whilst the PTO is engaged.
