A plastic material, which is used in some synthetic grass like carpets, for example 3G carpets. It is a softer and more flexible form of plastic than polypropylene, providing an improved sliding ability (called low slide reaction) which is particularly beneficial for hockey surfaces; it also helps to potentially reduce player fatigue. It has less of a resistance to UV-degradation than polypropylene, although the quantities of water required for this material in short-pile turf can be reduced, thus making cost and resource savings.
