Gibberellins

These are plant hormones (also known as a growth regulators) that regulate a range of plant development processes. There are over 100 gibberellins, and these can be used for various processes, including reducing seed setting (which can be useful where annual meadow grass dominates a sward); restricting or promoting stem elongation; breaking seed dormancy to promote germination; promote flowering, or for stimulating cell elongation. Gibberellin does not play a role in apical dominance, unlike auxin.
