3G Pitch Maintenance
The aim is to provide a surface which replicates as much as possible the playing characteristics of a good natural turfgrass pitch, for either football or rugby, depending upon the design requirements of the pitch. The pitch should provide for a consistent playing performance allowing for good ball control by players, a consistent response of the ball when interacting with the playing surface, a consistent response of player to surface interaction without undue strain on ligaments or joints of players, no surface water retention (i.e. free draining), safe to play on without any surface or trip hazards, and it should be maintained in this condition for a relatively long period of time (typically 8 to 10 years) to ensure carpet longevity meets the needs of the original design requirements and business model. This latter requirement is essential to ensure that the anticipated replacement period for carpet is not shorter than planned otherwise there can be a significant monetary shortfall in meeting the carpet replacement costs.
