Decompaction
The process of making a soil less compact and reducing the soil Bulk Density. The action of decompaction creates fissures, slits or holes within a soil so as to increase the overall soil volume. The loosening of the soil itself through cultivation techniques such as rotavating or power-harrowing , as well as deep spiking with soil heave, deep linear aeration with soil shattering, and hollow-tining also lead to decompaction.
