Croquet Lawn (Court) Maintenance

The aim is to provide a surface that is flat, firm, having a dense coverage of fine turfgrasses, be free of broad-leaved weeds, with no more than a small content of fine-leaved weeds, closely mown, has a suitable speed (measured using the "Plummer" technique) and with a clearly marked boundary.
Ideally the lawn should be situated where shade is not cast from surrounding buildings and where trees are present then any shade cast should be dappled and not persistent.
