A common Perennial grass, with the scientific name of Agrostis stolonifera var. stolonifera. The leaf is Flat or rolled, having a typical width of 0.5-5mm. The Ligule is Membranous, being 1-6mm in length; Auricle?: No. Growth type is Stoloniferous.

It is a grass which is occasionally sown on high sand profile golf greens, where high levels of resources and maintenance inputs are available. The nature of the creeping stoloniferous growth as well as shoot density creates a 'nap' in a sward and this requires increased scarification, verticutting, grooming, mowing and light topdressings to reduce and control this tendency for nap development.
