The European Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP regulation or CLP) is the EU legislation on the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of substances and mixtures. It also replaced the Chemicals (Hazard Information and Packaging for Supply) Regulations 2009 (or CHIP) in 2015. New hazard pictograms replaced those of CHIP from 1st June 2017. The pictograms are those of the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (see GHS Pictograms).
