Bottoming Out

The result of a range of maintenance activities to produce a clean surface on some amenity turfgrass surfaces, especially those within airfields, at the beginning of the growing season. Activities will typically include mowing closely and scarifying or chain harrowing with tines downwards to cut or tear out loose and weak vegetation. All arisings will ideally be removed.
