Auxin

A plant hormone (also known as a growth regulator) which can respond to environmental conditions to increase and develop cell growth. These hormones are produced at the tip ends of roots and shoots which allows the cells to expand. Many synthetic auxins have been produced as selective herbicides which force plant growth to an excessive amount, effectively over-exhausting the plant and killing it.
