Apprentice

Someone, typically a young person, but it can be someone of any age, who is training and learning a trade whilst in a paid job.

The aim is to become a competent worker on a well-paid salary.

An apprentice will be enrolled on an apprenticeship programme. Unfortunately, but not in all occupations, an apprentice will be relatively low paid.
