A very common Annual grass, with the scientific name of Poa annua. The leaf is Flat or rolled, having a typical width of 1-5mm. The Ligule is Membranous, being 2-5mm in length; Auricle?: No. Growth type is Tufted. It is an undesirable weed grass of all turf situations. It turns a sickly yellow in dry conditions, produces seed heads throughout the year, is susceptible to many turfgrass diseases, produces a thatchy turf surface and requires high amounts of water and fertiliser to maintain a suitable surface.
