Agrostis

The scientific genus for the Bent grass species. The main turfgrass species in this genus are Agrostis capillaris, previously Agrostis tenuis, (Common Bent; also called Browntop Bent); Agrostis castellana (Highland Bent); and Agrostis stolonifera (Creeping Bent); all of which are mostly used on fine turf situations.
